The Original Petite Soiree Kid’s Fashion Show
We arrived around 11:30 a.m. and were told that there would be a 1:30 p.m. Fashion show and that we had VIP tickets for the afternoon. The main perk of the VIP tickets was that we had reserved seats for the fashion show and so we didn’t have to stand in line to hold a place. We also received a swag bag filled with beauty goodies.
No sooner had we stepped inside that the girls decided that they were hungry! I was hoping there would be snacks at the event but aside from tea samples and a piece of Brigadeiro ( Brazilian Candy) there wasn’t anything to eat. Luckily my friend came well prepared with plenty of snacks and we made good use of the ‘nursing’ room. With a couple couches and plenty of room to park strollers (and our Smart Trike) the girls were able to enjoy their snack and run around.
We then perused through the vendor booths and met many moms with ideas and new products to share with us. Many of them had show specials and we were wow-ed by a couple. Including The Happy Mat which my friend purchased for her little one. Between T by Daniel and Mad Hatter Tea we had plenty of sips of herbal teas and even some special ones for the moms! We got to meet many fabulous local vendors and learn about sleep consulting and CPR. It took us about an hour to go through and meet the exhibitors so this was a fairly quick event.
Since we were done well before the 1:30 p.m. Fashion show I thought we’d leave but Little Monkey insisted on watching the Fashion Show and so we goofed around at the gorgeous photo booth and had some ‘magazine cover’ images done. I’m still waiting to see the official photographer’s images but here’s one I took of Little Monkey and her friend! The Fashion Show was under ten minutes (similar to most fashion shows) and the kids were so darn adorable! It was COCOLILY Magazine’s first time dabbling in a kid’s fashion show and I hope they come back next year because the parents and kids loved this portion! Once the show ended Little Monkey and her friend decided to walk the runway themselves and it was quite funny!
All in all this is a low stress event where you can easily pop in and out within the hour.Alternatively you could spend three hours just chilling in the lounge area and catching up with your friend while the little ones play. The place was well decorated and the Intercontinental Yorkville definitely had an air of fancy. As you can see Little Monkey was dressed oh so fashionably and she’s eager to attend her next fashion show!
