Transitioning from Bottle to Sippy Cup | Giveaway
Disclosure: I am part of the PTPA Brand Ambassador Program with Philips Avent and I received compensation as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog, as always, are totally mine!
You may recall that we’ve been huge fans of the Philips Avent bottles (and you can still enter to win the Classic and Natural bottles!) and as much as I would like to continue in our comfy zone, I know that unlike Little Monkey, Baby Boy won’t be making his own move towards a bottle free life. This why I’ve been slowly introducing him to the Philips Avent My Penguin Sippy Cup.
Of course the My Penguin Sippy Cup is made from BPA free material, all parts are dishwasher safe (wohoo!!) and it all comes apart making it easy for us to REALLY clean it out properly. I have a feeling Baby Boy really likes the trainer handles with soft touch grips! I see him flinging the cups and walking around the house often.
One by one I’ve been slowly hiding (and throwing away) his other bottles but we still have quite a few floating around. What I’m LOVING about the new Avent range is that everything is interchangable! So this means that I can to place the nipples on the base of the My Penguin Sippy Cup as I slowly transition him! I can also place the Sippy cup lids on the new Avent bottles as well. How awesome is that?
It’s a slow journey for us as Baby Boy is adamant about using his bottles, we just need to toss them out cold turkey I guess. The My Penguin Sippy Cups are great because they have a lid which prevents any spills and so it travels well. Only issue is when I lose a cover and then the soft spout pushes against my purse and leaks! Clearly I need to be better at keeping track of our items.
Before you enter to win 1 of 40 Philips Avent My Penguin Sippy Cup packs, tell me – what tips do you have for transitioning from bottle to cup?

I would use it for my daughter Ainslee who has also been having trouble transitioning to a sippy cup. My boys all seemed to enjoy using cups (except at night time), but my daughter just flat out refuses.

Oh I’m feeling your pain there! Bottle is still strong at ours as well.

I have been using a sippy cup with my daughter since she’s been born. She has been 100% breastfed except water with meals since 6 months. Now at 11 months, she grabs her cup and drinks all by herself 🙂

This will be shared with a friend. I do not have tips for transition as I exclusively breast feed and never used a bottle , we used a sippy cup right from 8 months .
